Since its first edition in 2015/16, this initiative has kept its main goal of encouraging the creation of new picturebooks with a view to promote the literary and artistic quality of this medium.
The award consistes of a cash prize of 4000 euros and the publication of the winning work in Portuguese by the publisher Planeta Tangerina.
