The Serpa International Award for Picturebooks (hereinafter called Serpa Award) is a biannual award promoted by the Serpa Town Council and the publisher Planeta Tangerina.
At the Serpa Award we care about privacy and we do our best to have a clear and transparent relationship with each of our visitors and readers.
Throughout our website or digital communications, we do not collect any personal data that hasn’t been freely conceded by those who visit us. Planeta Tangerina is committed to processing your personal data in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation and applicable laws* on privacy protection and circulation of personal data.
Visitors to our website can subscribe to newsletters by filling out a form requesting their name and email address. This data is then integrated on our email database on Mailchimp, through which we send all our messages and newsletters whenever we have something important to communicate (e.g. open call, jury announcement, last call, winners and mentions, etc.).

The Serpa Prize does not share your data with third parties and takes all reasonable steps to ensure that it remains protected. However, it is important to note that, despite our efforts, no security system can guarantee absolute protection of your information.
The hosting service we use is responsible for maintaining the security of the infrastructure where the site is hosted, regularly updating its hardware and software infrastructure. On our side, we have a service provider that ensures the correct operation, updating and maintenance of the site's software. In addition, we have implemented internally a set of best practices to avoid exposing personal information to people outside our organization. Everyone who has access to visitor data knows and implements the Privacy Policy that is associated with the site.
Sending messages and newsletters
Our visitors and readers may, at any time, unsubscribe from newsletters and messages sent through MailChimp by simply clicking on the "unsubscribe from our list" link that is always found in the footer of any message sent by us. They can also change their subscription preferences by clicking on the "update preferences" link, also available in the footer.
In compliance with the provisions of the Portuguese Law 2016/679 of 27 April, the user access, rectify or eliminate the data provided may at any time, as well as request cancellation of any promotional communications.
